Dick and Karen have been active in church music in Texas for most of their lives. Both Karen and Dick are PK's (Preacher's Kids) and became active in their father's churches at an early age. Karen studied piano and organ and became a church accompanist at age 12 and continued serving as pianist and/or organist in various churches until 1999. Dick first sang in the choir at age 11 and at age 15 he was the Music Director for his father's church, leading a choir of 50 voices. As an ordained minister, Dick continued to serve as Minister of Music in churches across west Texas. In 1996, he left church music to tour full time with The Big Country Boys. This Southern Gospel quartet was popular throughout the United States singing 300 plus concert dates a year and placing eighth in the nation at the National Quartet Convention.

In 1999, after deciding to slow down and get "off the road", Dick and Karen formed the Southern Gospel Quartet, "Jordan River". This group became one of the most popular groups in West Texas.       Read More
